Mirchi ka Salan || Hyderabadi Mirchi Ka Salan

Recipe : 

Ingredients :

  • Long Chillies- 6 or more
    •  (Slit Center , de-seed using back of spoon, flap-off to remove all seeds)
  • To make masala paste :
    • Peanuts – 4 tablespoons
      • Roast on low flame , when peanuts are roasted, then turn off the flame, and add,
      • Sesame Seeds – 3 tablespoons
      • Dry coconut powder – 2 tablespoons
        • (Keep stirring, fry sesame seeds & dry coconut powder on that heat).
      • Cool down , add 
        • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
        • Coriander Powder – 1 teaspoon
        • Cumin Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
        • Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
        • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon
        • Jaggery – 1/2 tsp
        • Tamarind Water – ( 4 inches tamarind (finger size) add hot water and  extract juice after 10 minutes)
        • Water – little
        • Blend into a smooth paste
        • Keep Aside
  • On Saute 
    • Add :
      • Oil – 2 Tablespoons
      • De- seeded green chillies
        • Fry till blisters appear
    • Keep Aside
    • Add :
      • Oil – 1 Tablespoon ( if needed add oil )
      • Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
      • Curry Leaves (optional)
      • Onions – 1 ( cut into small pieces )
        • – fry onions till they turn into golden color)
      • when onions are cooked,
      • Add :
        • Masala Paste – fry just a minute
        • Water – 1 to 1 & 1/2 cups
        • Salt
        • Fried Chillies
        • Mix Well
  • Cancel Saute
  • Close the lid and Turn Vent Seal 
    • Manual – 3 minutes
    • Pressure – HIGH
    • Release – Quick Release
  • Open the lid and add coriander leaves 

Serve with Bagara rice , roti , coconut rice, biryani , jeera rice or any flavored rice.
