Semiya (Vermicelli) Upma in Instant Pot

Upma is a popular and regular breakfast in South Indian .Semiya ( Vermicelli ) Upma is a Quick Recipe for Breakfast or dinner. In Semiya and mixed vegetables are added with little spice.

Recipe :

Ingredients :

  • Roasted Semiya – 2 cups
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Onion – 1 (medium size)
  • Green chillies – 3 (slit)
  • Tomato – 1 ( medium size)
  • Carrot – 1 ( large)
  • Frozen Peas – 1/2 cup

On Saute

  • Add :
    • Oil – 2 Tablespoons
    • Mustard seeds – 1/4 Teaspoon
    • Ginger (grated) – 1 Teaspoon (or) 1 inch grated ginger
    • Onions
    • Green Chillies
    • Cashews – few
      • Saute Onions till they turn translucent
  • Add :
    • Tomato
    • Turmeric powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
    • Saute a minute
  • Add :
    • Water
    • Carrots
    • Frozen Peas
    • Salt
    • Roasted Semiya
    • Mix Well
    • Cancel Saute
  • Manual – 1 minute
  • Pressure – HIGH
  • Release – Quick Release

Serve Warm.
